Music has been a tradition in St Josephs for a long number of years. Our link with Croke Park goes beyond our many former famous Dublin footballers with many of our past students playing with the Artane Boys Band.

This music tradition is very much in evidence today in the school with the numbers taking music at Junior and Leaving Cert. All students study music in 1st year with many students opting to continue to Junior Cert, and availing of the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument.

The Transition Year music programme gives all students the opportunity to develop their musical talents in a creative atmosphere. This development, for many, continues into the Leaving Cert programme where many students achieve success in the practical and written exam.

Musical talents are very much in evidence at school events such as Christmas Carol services and end of year graduations. The music tradition of St Josephs is an integral part of the ethos of the school and will continue long into the future.
